5.1 magnitude earthquake jolts country

The quake was felt in different parts of the country including the capital. The quake was felt around 4:12 pm on Friday, January 21.

The epicenter was reported at the Myanmar-India border, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The magnitude of the earthquake was 5.4 on the Richter scale. It was located at a depth of 56.8 km from the surface.

Almost the same information was provided by the European Seismological Earthquake Center (ESMC).

No damage was reported in Bangladesh so far.
