Bus-CNG collision at Jatrabari, killed 3

Three people, including a woman, were killed in a collision between a bus and CNG at Matuail in the capital's Jatrabari. The accident took place around 7:15 am on Friday, January 21.

After rescuing them in critical condition, they were taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.

The dead are Abdur Rahman (65), Md. Reazul Islam (48) and Sharmin (37). All of them live in Wazirpur, Barisal.

A five-year-old child named Shakira and CNG driver Abdur Rafiq (50) were injured in the incident.

Jatrabari police sub-inspector (SI) Biswajit Sarkar confirmed the matter.

"We rescued them from the scene after receiving the news," he said.

"The injured were rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital."

It is learned that the three came to Dhaka by launch from Barisal this morning. Then they were going to a hospital in Matuail with CNG. CNG collided with the bus on the way.

DMC hospital police camp inspector in charge Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter and said that the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.
